Ok I waited a bit watched the fallout and think I have a few cents left to offer.
Miss Ris Low, certainly not the low risk choice for the Miss Singapore World pageant; but to the average person on the street she is just another ‘pretty girl’ who will be forgotten in no time flat. Only to be laughed at the next time she unfortunately gets in the news.

I give her (Ris Low) the props for taking part in the flagging beauty contest franchise. This business has been going down hill for some time now. Scrapping the bottom of the barrel in fact. Far be it for me to say but even the Singtel Grid Girls can do a better job. *hahahahahaha*

She committed a crime, in fact several times. So she has bipolar disorder, which does not mean she has uncontrollable urges to commit crime. That is called kleptomania. What we have seen so far is all political spin, and a little magic. Magic? Yes the art of misdirection. Focus on the bad interview, ignore the crime spree. Nothing to see here folks, move along now.

Now on to the meat of the matter. Should she keep her crown? Can she represent us in the international contest?
Well the matter is moot. She gave up the crown. I would believe that if I didn’t have such low faith in humanity and that behind the scenes they said, “Sorry you have given us too much bad press, pack your bags. Don’t call us we’ll call you. Have a nice day”

All that aside, I still wouldn’t want her to represent us. I’m a stickler on our Miss Singapore World being able to speak English properly. Not Queen’s English, as people in England do not speak the Queen’s English. Just pronounce the vowels and consonants. Don’t add extra letters to words.
Is it really too much to ask that we don’t perpetuate the idea that we don’t speak English in Singapore. Even Beyonce said it.

Summing it up. Too bad, so sad, but once we have a little quality the rest will follow.
To Miss Ris Low good night and good luck.
